Like to get involved in the post race banter but would like to be sure of your facts

Then this could be the course for you.

RYA Race Rules Advisors Seminar at RBSC Sat 4th February 2012.

Run by RYA trainor -Trevor Lewis

No fee but you’ll need to bring lunch…..

This is part of the RYA’s initiative to improve rules dispute procedures with out resorting to formal protests, sounds just like what we do already but we do need a few people to be upto date with the rules!

This is being run in conjuntion with our neighbours at Hickling and spaces are limited (more than enough for us) but must be booked before hand.

Annual Dinner – Success

Over 50 members enjoyed a great evening at the Filby Bridge Restaurant where after a tasty meal the prizes for the summer season were awarded. Daniel Bull our youngest prize winner was not there so should have received his prize on Sunday. This was followed by a quiz with rounds including sport, history, TV & entertainment; a pictures round and just to make sure everyone got a few points some questions on sailing.

If you’d like to pick your own duty date for the winter series (October to March) sign up sheets are now posted in the clubhouse. Alternatively email me with a couple of alternative dates (sign up sheets will take priority bu email will beat no pick at all!)

Family & Picnic Day – This Saturday 16th July

The Kidz day for the 16July is now the Family & Picnic day, So the Adults are welcome too.

Time 10.45am to 3.30pm

Perhaps those of you who have not used your boats in a long time would like join in, meeting other members and having a relaxed day

Rollesby Broad’s World Champion

Rollesby regular Dennis Manning has been enjoying great team success taking a Gold Medal in the World Blind Match Racing championships held in Perth, Australia. Dennis competes as headsail trimmer for the GB team along with Nick Donnini (mainsail) and Vicki Sheen (Helm). Sailing takes place in Sonar keel boats with acoustic signals from bouys and boats to indicate course and directions.

The championship comes to the UK next year so we’ll have home champions with a title to defend. It is hoped that the format which has been developed over the last few years is now sufficiently tested that it can be included in the paraolympics in 2020.
